Ever wondered how hard we work to fill our life with luxuries that we hardly have time to enjoy.
LOOK AT IT THIS WAY... The luxury Cars, Toyotas, Land Cruisers, Rav 4's; Mercedes that are parked 8 hours (on the average) driven 40 min to the office and 40 minutes back home 5 days out 7 (i.e. 6 out of 168 hours in a week)....(except for those who stay in lasgigi of course)
And whilst we sit on a not-so-comfortable chair in a small room called an office your Mansion lies idle with only the House Girl enjoying herself to the 'bacon and egg breakfast' (or maybe ogi and moimoi) relaxing on that very expensive leather sofa that we only sit on when we get home...
and being so tired we just doze off to sleep anyway.
When tired of work she takes a break turns on the Plasma TV and spoil herself with the fully subscribed DSTV (or HiTv), of course if she feels bored she can always turn on that brand name Hifi and swing a bit...
And whilst all that is happening where are you?...you are eating a cheap take away lunch (fries from TFC or Mr Biggs) everyday and oh by the way there is no breakfast really, because it's just a cup of tea a few slices of bread probably with some left-overs from yesterday's supper (for the fortunate few).
Every moment you pray that it could just get to 5pm so that you can drive home and join... the House Girl!! (Poor you!). So this is your miserable lot for the rest of your working life... by the time you retire you'll have no pleasure in them anymore. By now your children would have joined in the Rat Race of finding a good job working very hard and never enjoying the fruits of their labours... its all vanity
isn't it?
SO MY QUESTION IS... WHO IS ENJOYING THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOUR BETTER...
YOU OR YOUR HOUSE GIRL?

Who is enjoying my house??? I'll av to say my co tenants - cockroach and mosquitos. But de all know who is in charge and pays d bills. But to be frank, i am enjoying o!! My small small fun no get part 2, cos i mn to make my £$ and spend am too. We only live ONCE!!!

so so true it hurts. all work and yet bi can't even afford to keep a house girl, so even when i get home, i can't enjoy o for i am too busy cooking, cleaning, ironing...

hmmm.... funny post, but then in actual sense, thats what happens to the working class, i think they dont get to enjoy anything, unless one retires in time and then relax and enjoy, but back home in naija, people dont retire....??????????? its sad...
man its a trip...i see peoples coming from work on the bus all the time- you should see their faces- gloom, worrying and in deep thoughts....me I just observe and keep a strong face
My co-worker resently purposely got fired - fed up after working so hard - now he works for his self and has more time for his family plus collect money from the Government via unemployment- and I don't blame him
frankly I think the work week should be 4 days and 3 days weekend

the help is enjoying the fruits better... lol.

The House girl is obvious the one enjoyimg all these things but if u decide to sack ur house girl today..she leaves with nothing... but God forbid u loose ur job or anything happens, these are things that u can then fall back on...so just do what u can and join the rat race for 2morrows sake sha... So its enjoyment at the office and enjoyment at home.

Well I think youshould try to see the bright side of this as well. There could be a lot worse and let's just thank god for the luxury we can afford and the fact that we DO have a comfortable home to come back to at 6pm. The house girl doesn't have that.
Then the job doesn't have to be just a tight boring office. Why don't you try to choose a job you'll love. Then a whole different scenario comes in.
