Dear Pops,
How are you doing? Wow, can't believe it's been so long since we last saw. Its exactly 14 years today. How time flies. I remember it like it was yesterday. From the time u were ill to the time we got to know u had left us and till when we bade you the final farewell. Seems just like yesterday.
A lot has happened since u left us (or rather since God called you back home). The good and the bad, the unexpected and the challenging, the highs and the lows but we always came out on top by Gods grace. Infact if not for HIM, we for don park go village since. Most of those whom we thought were your friends were not really. Some gave us troubles, some ignored us, and some refused to help us when we needed them. Some just disappeared and I bet some were happy you had gone. There have been good times too (no thanks to your 'friends'). We are all grown up now, at least. Your three daughters are all married and they have given you 12 grandchildren. Guess who had the most? I bet you wouldn't think it was Uche, would you? We the boys are working towards competing with them in marriage and rearing grandchildren too. Emeka is working towards it, I'm also working towards it but you know how far now, to find woman easy, na to find wife na hin hard. The other guys are fine and I can assure you, marriage would be the least on their mind now. But they are doing fine, Ikenna just got a job, Chimezie has finished and is waiting for service and Nnamdi is in Unilag now.
Last but not the least, your darling wife, the best mother in the world. Made us become something out of nothing. Without her, I don't think we would have done this well or lasted this long. She is doing fine, haven't seen her in over a year but we talk and write each other. I know you never used the internet (you missed) but she is now a guru, sends email more than I do. Yeah, and she now has a job, doing what she loves doing; taking care of people and getting paid at that.
I know we all miss you but if there was a chance in heaven you could read this, you would miss us more.
Take care pops, see you when you see us
Cheers
Just an ingenious idea i came up with to bore whoever is jobless enough to want to read this. Criticise as much as possible

Whats love got to do with it....?
.......well, i guess everything if u ask me.
I dont even know what to write about but this lyrics from the one and only Tina Turner just keeps popping up in my mind and i just decided to write it down. I dont know why it keeps popping up in my head (in the last week ,atleast); guess its cos of the phase i am in my life now. A confused state u might call it (thats what someone said it is anyway), but i think i am undergoing a transformation. I thought i had seen and heard it all when it came to life, women, love, relationships and all that but meeennnnnn, i just dey see new new things ooo.
I had always wanted a simple life but i guess thats too much to ask for someone who is as complicated as i am. I used to think i was a very simple person but looking back i realised i was not even close. I apologise to all my friends(and enemies too) who thought i was very simple, all those i loved and still do, all those i never loved, all those that loved me, all those that never did love me,all those i cared for, all those that cared for me,all those i broke their heart, all those that broke mine, and all of you out there.
Keep the faith guys, Love God, Live simple, have faith in Jesus, the saviour, eat well, exercise and support Manchester United.
cheers
(U see, i told u i was complicated. i dont even know why i just wrote this stuff in my blog)

Driving in Las GiGi!!!!!!!!!!!
I KNOW THIS BLOG IS ABOUT ORIGINALITY, BUT I COULD NOT HELP STEALING THIS WONDERFUL PIECE FROM SOMEONE ELSE TO SHARE WITH U GUYS. ENJOY...........
Lagos is often acclaimed as the most exciting city in Nigeria in which to drive. Who would argue? For those of you who think that driving in England is stressful, herewith, for newcomers and visitors, are a few basic rules of the road for driving in Las Gidi:
First of all, know which battalion to which you belong. There is an unending and vicious road war in Lagos.
In the first battalion, are motorcyclists popularly called Okada. They have a pact with suicide - avoid them at all costs.
In the second battalion are commercial bus drivers. Their buses are known by various names including -Danfo, Molue (literally means "I go beat you"), Bolekaja (means "Come down, make we fight), Kabu-kabu, etc. As these names imply, they are not the smartest specie on the face of the planet. Avoid them.
In the third battalion are the "guys of the siren"; escort riders, bullion vans, trailers, etc. They have immunity against death. Besides, they get a medal for every scratch, and a certificate of bravery for every bash.
In the fourth battalion are private guys like me. All we have at our disposal are big talk and empty threats - we have no rights. Sometimes we employ what is called "Ogboju"(bravado) to get by.
Further rules:
· When in doubt, accelerate.
· Never drive behind a person whose head doesn't reach the top of the steering wheel.
· Danfo drivers believe they are immortal. Don't yield to the temptation to teach them otherwise.
· Taxicabs should always have the right of way, unless you are bent on suicide.
· Get used to "Okada" drivers saying things like: "Commot that scrap for road", "Mr. I go drive myself". It is normal, and we just ignore them.
· Never, ever, stop for a pedestrian unless he flings himself under the wheels of your car.
· The first parking space you see will be the last parking space you see. Grab it.
· Learn to swerve abruptly. In Lagos , potholes (and sometimes car-holes) are put in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes.
· There is no such thing as "one-way" in Lagos . Expect traffic from any direction at all times.
· Never get in the way of a car that needs extensive bodywork.
· There is no such thing as a short cut during rush-hour traffic in Lagos .
· It is traditional in Lagos to honk your horn at cars that don't move the instant their bumpers are not touching the next car.
· When asking for directions, always ask at least 3 people. Lagosians claim to know every inch of the city - even newcomers.
· Use extreme caution when pulling into breakdown lanes. Breakdown lanes are not for breaking down, but for speeding, especially during rush hour.
· Never use directional signals, since they only confound and distract other Lagos drivers, who are not used to them.
· Similarly, never attempt to give hand signals. Lagos drivers, unused to such courtesies, will think you are making obscene gestures to them. This could be very bad for you in Lagos .
· Hazard lights (popularly called "double pointer") is not, (as commonly supposed) used to indicate a hazard. It is a warning to you that he is a bonafide Lagos driver, and as such, will not stop under any circumstance. Take him extremely seriously especially if he backs it up with a continuous blast from his "horn".
· At any given time , do not stand on the zebra crossing expecting traffic to yield to you, else you will have to explain to the on coming traffic that you look like a zebra.
· Speed limits are arbitrary figures posted only to make you feel guilty.
· Remember that the goal of every driver is to get there first by whatever means necessary.
· Above all, keep moving.
· Good luck -- you'll need it!

Naija is 46!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hoorayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! (Or is it shameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!)
Well, to tell you the truth, I did not celebrate Naija’s 46th birthday with enthusiasm, no thanks to recent events (OBJ vs. Atiku) which has made me look with doubts to the future of this country. As a true patriotic Naija man, I only hope and pray for the best for this country. God has blessed us astoundingly with natural and human resources; Coal (I know we used to have it at Enugu), Crude oil (we still have a ‘50 year’ stock or so), Gas (the yet to be flared reserve), food stuffs (well in some homes), best people (a 16 yr old naijerian went to space), best minds (Soyinka, Achebe, me(lol) e.t.c) best weather (at least no tsunami), no famine, no earthquakes, no genocide, religious tolerance (to an extent at least) and so on.
Despite all these good stuffs from JEHOVA, we still have massive social problems which keep leaping from bad to worse to worst; worst roads, worst power supply, worst education, worst security, and worst unemployment. As a typical Naija man, I will lay the blame on our leaders. Our leaders have disappointed us (me) in the past 46 years, military and civilians alike (OBJ and ATIKU, una no try oooo). Their goals and aspirations have never been for the interest of the people, NEVER. It has always been a Personal Enrichment Programme (PED) and it will continue to be so unless for divine intervention. We all need to pray for this nation. We need to pray for our present leaders and the future ones too (especially people like me wey wan become president one day). With all the prayers, we also need to be Nation Development focused.
We all have a part to play in rebuilding Naija. Whatever part we must play, may God never allow us adopt the PED approach but only focus on moving Naija ahead.
Naija must move forward, whether our leaders like it or not.
NAIJA – Forward Ever!!!!!!!

If i die today...............
In memory of Arc. Charles Oniovosa Natufe (1969-2006)
Where would I go to if I die today?
Where would you go to if you die today?
Heaven?
Hell?
Purgatory? (For those that believe in it).
The fact is I’m not really 100% sure and I’m sure most of you are not too. Of course, we all hope and pray we end up in heaven after the toils and spoils of this world but sometimes (and most times for some people) we do not really do what we have to do to be considered worthy to be part of that heavenly kingdom where there is no pain, no cries, no lies, no war, no deaths, no failure, no sickness and no problems whatsoever.
I was at Charles’s service of songs yesterday (31st August) and everyone that spoke about him said lots and lots of good stuff about him (which I can vouch for cos he was really a good man). He was a good man in the eyes of all who knew him but what really matters when someone dies is how God sees the person. I hope God sees him the same way we see him or even better. The BIG MAN has the final say. My prayer is that when my time is up and I finally leave this earth, let it be when the BIG MAN is very pleased with me so that no matter what people say on my own service of songs, I would be resting with HIM till eternity. I also pray the same prayer for all who are reading this and your families and friends, AMEN
Charles – God be with you till we meet again

You don’t know what you have until you loose it…….
I used to think the above statement only related to people and relationships. I had an encounter over the weekend that changed that perception. First of all, accept my apologies for not coming up with anything interesting to write in the past few months.
Saturday, 12th August 2006, was ‘WHITE CANE DAY’. It was organized by the Nigerian Society for the Blind and the Vocational School for the Visually Impaired to raise funds for the visually impaired. The high point of the day was the walk from National Stadium to Costain roundabout and back to the Stadium. Each volunteer had to adopt any of the visually impaired to guide him/her through the walk. This is where this story actually starts from.
I had the privilege to walk with Kazeem, a bright young lad of 26. He wasn’t born blind. He became blind in 1999 by accident. He was a very good snooker player. Immediately after a very hard won victory over the reigning champion in his neighborhood, he was jumping around and celebrating with his friends and somehow (he still can’t explain it) the cue stick he was holding found its sharper end right under his eyes. He was rushed to the hospital but the doctors could not do anything for him. He lost the right eye. As the months rolled by, the left eye somehow got affected and he started loosing it gradually till he became totally blind in that eye in 2001/2. As at today, he sees slightly with his right eye but it’s not enough to make him walk round the house alone. He had plans to be a mechanical engineer (he still does). I met his friends Solomon, obinna, ’bicycle’, iya segun, and sly. This guys where so smart they were even educating me about things I thought I knew. I overhead Solomon talking about nuclear warheads and wastes and I was impressed. Kazeem talked about machines and engines. They even loved football and where even talking about relaxing over a cold bottle of beer.
Kazeem said I won’t know how much my eyes are worth until I loose them. He was right. He thought me a lesson.
Everyday and every time I will keep thanking GOD for giving me my senses and keeping them intact; for keeping me alive, safe, and unharmed; for continuously blessing me and my family even amidst hardships, troubles and even when I sin.
I hope you would find time to thank him today and always for everything he has done and is doing for you. Also try and show how grateful you are by giving out to those in need either in kind or in cash. You would definitely be putting a smile on someone’s face. Like Kazeem said, you never know what u have until u loose it………….

MI BUFFDAY......
Yo lads,
Mi buffday was yeestiday, mi had a jolly gooood time with lootz of blokes and lasses(enough of the Irish accent). my birthday was yesterday (29th) and i had a wonderfuuuuuul time with friends, colleagues, cousins, well wishers, enemies,ex-girlfriends,internet friends and backstabbers. I thank everybody that came around, i really appreciate it, and for those who did not come(especially edoka, omoge, chioma and Ngozi), i think u missed. Dont worry, maybe next year you could make it (if we are all alive till then).
The high point of the day was, (i think....) i realised i am really getting old and getting closer to the big three O (just 364 days remaining). Omo, i need to marry o. I need your prayers oooo. I want to get married on or b4 my the big three O and i know i can do that with your prayers(and mine too), the right lady(should i go for the right lady, if there is one, or make the lady right?), increased salary, promotion and ELEDUMARE's mercies and grace. With all these and a little others i think i will make it.
Once again i thank all of you that made it to my place under short notice(especially Subomi, chioma, ihuoma, henry), those that called me, those that sent text, those that forgot, those who could not call or send a text cos of no credit, and infact all of you reading this now
Cheers and have a joyous month of june coming up
Peace, i'm out.

April fool's day
hey guys,
i think i am actually achieving the essence of opening this blog in the first place( BORE U ALL TO DEATH) cos this is actually the third in about as many weeks. hadn't actually planned for it though but had to for two reasons:

i think i am actually achieving the essence of opening this blog in the first place( BORE U ALL TO DEATH) cos this is actually the third in about as many weeks. hadn't actually planned for it though but had to for two reasons:
1- i am soooooo bored
2- to wish u a happy april fools day(make sure u dont get fooled).

how come...?
how come nobody responded to my earlier posting....(i still dey vex o)
how come naija cant get better than this......
how come OBJ(papa iyabo) still wants to stay on for a third term(at his age).......
how come the so called elders of the land cant(or rather wont) speak the truth.....
how come there are so many who are unemployed in naija(this one too much o).............
how come my main guys never get better work(no worry guys, e go better)........
how come chelsea is winning the league again(instead of man u)........
how come brazil is blessed with the best footballing talents...........
how come i no fine reach tom cruise(stupid question).......
how come i dont get to win a million dollars in the lottery......
how come i always allow people use me and dump me(even when i know they will).......
how come......, how come........, how come.......,
to many how comes, too many questions, toooooo many answers(most of which i dont know) but the fact still remains that we dont need to know these things to be happy and live a fulfilled life(the million dollars would help though). We just have to be ourselves, free our mind, live well, exercise often, have a good relationship with God almighty, tell the truth(dont be like mantu and bode george), dont go for a third term, dont win a million dollars(earn it), dont be weighed down with worries and troubles(i know this part is very difficult), find love(kudos to those who have found it, una try ooo), dont get pushed around, always reply my blogs(LOL) and always be yourself
cheers guys.enjoy yourselves cos me i am going to do just that.
nuff respect.. PUYAKA

This year is gonna be great
Its the third month of the year already. The year is running so fast i am trying to keep up(but u know me now, i too much.i am definitely keeping up if not even ahead sef). The year did start well, i made some new friends; ipheanyi, seun, edoka, bayo, dolapo, chioma, ijeoma, mercy, yemi, bello, uche and a host of others (no vex if u no see ur name o). I made new year resolutions which i am using all my energy to keep(dont even bother asking me what they r), changed jobs from the soon "to-be" most capitalised bank to a global consulting firm( see me o, from banker to consultant), fell in love for the first time in decades(but e no last sha, still trying to hang on) and for the first time i stopped thinking like an ibo man. Now i know money is not everything(knowledge is power). And most importantly i retraced my steps back to God almighty. Thank you Jesus.
But the year also had its own wahala. I lost a dear cousin who was married to a yoruba man(them say na poison kill am but no quote me o). i also lost some other people like that from neighbours to church members to extended cousins like that for village (u know that kain thing now). My car also almost got burnt(this is actually a miracle, it should have been in the first paragraph). mmmmmmmmm.........................(still thinking) Well i dont like remembering the bad things so i guess i have forgotten the rest of it(its better jo, count your blessings).
Anyway this is my first time i get to have a blog so pardon me, not good with words and all that. All those that know me well can atest to this. so i really hope u guys would write stuffs about me that are true and real.
The whole point of this anyway is to try something new(copy copy,na because others dey do am oo)and see how well i could do if i had to write something(like a novel or books or something like that) .
Cheers all and remember, God loves us all thats why He sent Jesus to die for us.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
